Ally
by Karen Traviss
If memory serves, this is the fifth book in Ms. Traviss' Cavanaugh's Star series. As with all series, the tales depends on ever increasing complexity and character introductions. This is no exception. The story is getting so complex, with so many characters that its impossible to remember all of the characters and their relationships. This one started out fantastically, but inevitably in series work that isn't just a collection of extended chapters, its getting boring.
In this book, we are introduced to our fifth species and their racial characteristics. The Skavu are genome-typed to jihadic fanaticism. Their leaders are ranked in who gets to die first. And, they have been defeated by the Wess'har from yet another planetary system than the Wess'har that we were introduced to in the first book. *Yawn*
Give these from here on out a bye. I am.
